Evelyn Nadine (Croft) Cool, 86, of Rittman passed peacefully in her room at the Doylestown Health Care Center in Doylestown, Ohio on Sunday morning, January 8, 2023, as a result of declining health.
Evelyn was born in Barberton, Ohio on November 8, 1936, to the late Frederick and Dorothy (Stauffer) Croft.
Evelyn grew up in the city of Barberton and attended Barberton Public Schools. She married the love of her life, Ronald Cool on May 21, 1956, whom she met working as a waitress in Barberton at Rich’s Diner. She immensely enjoyed listening to country music and watching her favorite country music shows on her television. Evelyn adored Elvis Presley, whom she had a collection of items themed after Presley. She loved to collect dolls, especially her little Indian girl baby dolls. She loved to travel and go on cruises with her late husband and her sisters. She also appreciated the occasional famous Barberton chicken dinner. Evelyn enjoyed walking, staying active, and cooking/baking many delicious recipes before her health began to decline. She was loved by many and a joy to be around.
Evelyn is survived by her three children: Brenda (Gary) Schaub of West Virginia, Tammy Bases of Rittman, and Ronald (Melissa) Cool of Rittman. In addition, she is survived by her sisters Linda Guess and Darlene Hicks of Tennessee, Becky Davenport and Melissa Ferguson of Ohio; nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by both of her parents Frederick and Dorothy, and her husband Ronald Cool. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded by her grandchildren Roxanna Adams and Glen David Schaub; sisters Twila O’Quinn and Dottie Croft, and brothers Fred, Gary, and Teddy Croft.
A graveside service will be conducted by Stump Funeral Home & Cremation, Inc., Arnoldsburg, WV, on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Turner Cemetery with Rev. John Vannoy officiating. Online condolences may be expressed at www.stumpfuneralhomes.com
