Obituary for Rev. Benjamin Ray Kerby Sr.

Reverend Benjamin Ray Kerby, Sr., age 80, of Unionville, VA, formerly Spencer,
WV, passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2020, at home surrounded by family.

He was born September 28, 1940, in Rocksdale, WV, a son of the late Woodrow Wilson Kerby
Sr. and Alma Evelyn (Lynch) Hill.

He is survived by his beloved wife Stella L (Norman) Kerby; three children: Charlotte M.
Helmick (Wayne) of Manassas, VA, Benjamin R. Kerby Jr (Emily), of Millstone, WV, Billy R. Kerby
of Calhoun, WV; 5 grandsons: Bradley Helmick (Kristin), Jonathan Helmick (Amber), William
Helmick (Danielle), Nicholas Kerby (Cecilia), and Lucas Kerby; 4 great-granddaughters, Maddy,
Caroline, Adelynn, and Madisyn; two brothers, James Kirby of Plainfield, IN and Holly Kerby of
Ravenswood, WV.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Brooksene (Reed) Kerby;
one son, Bradley R. Kerby; three brothers, Darrell, Woody, and Richard, and one sister, Rose.

Funeral services will be conducted at Stump Funeral Home & Cremation, Inc., Arnoldsburg, WV, on Tuesday, December 1, 2020, with Pastor Randy Wilson and special words by Jerry Sowders. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Gibson Cemetery in Arnoldsburg, WV. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Air Force Honor Guard.
